A User Coordinate System (UCS) defines the axes and origin your asset's coordinates are reported against. A single asset can carry several — one on the structural grid, one tied to the site datum, another on control points brought in from a total station. Hexagon GeoCloud lists every UCS the asset carries and lets you switch between them in the viewer, so you can read coordinates in the frame your task calls for.
Selecting a UCS changes only what you see. It does not change the asset's active UCS, its metadata, or any stored measurement or GeoTag data.
Where UCSs come from
UCSs are defined upstream, when your data is registered — for example in Cyclone REGISTER 360 PLUS — and travel with the asset in the LGSx file. For how to set one up there, see Create UCS in the Cyclone REGISTER 360 documentation. You cannot create, rename, delete, or reorder UCSs in Hexagon GeoCloud. The UCS selector in the viewer offers only the UCSs the asset already carries.
Switching the coordinate system
-
Open the asset in the viewer.
-
Find the UCS selector next to the view cube, above the navigation modes icons.
-
Select a UCS from the list. The asset's active UCS is the default, and is marked in the list.
The change takes effect immediately. There is no page reload, and you do not leave the asset.

Things to know
-
Your selection is remembered per asset, in the browser you are using. It is not shared with collaborators and does not follow you to another machine or browser; clearing your browser data returns the asset to its default UCS.
-
When you share an asset, the person who opens your link sees the asset's active UCS, not the UCS you had selected.
-
Measurements and GeoTags you have already saved are unchanged — only the coordinates shown against them change.
