BIM Progress Monitoring and Tolerance Checking introduction

Tolerance Checking and Bim Progress Monitoring workflows give the same kind of analysis but their goals are different.

  • Bim Progress Monitoring indicates whether a part is installed or not (it focuses on tracking the progress of construction against the project schedule).

  • Tolerance checking indicates whether a part is installed in the correct position according to a given tolerance (it focuses on ensuring the accuracy and quality of construction).

Both cases can be confusing since matching a part and its measured points is mainly addressed thanks to their positions.

It is advisable to check manually the results during the second step of these workflows.
