Using the Tool

Note: Before using the tool, ensure the Snap to Node setting is enabled by typing OSNAP at the CAD command line.

To orientate the UCS from two selected points, follow the steps below:

  1. Activate the tool using any option below:

    1. Select 2 Points from the Workplane menu in the Orientation panel.

    2. Type a command line prompt specific to the preferred CAD system and press ENTER.

  2. When prompted to Pick origin, select a point on the point cloud to define the origin.

  3. When prompted to Pick X axis, select a point on the point cloud to define the X-axis direction.

This will not change the orientation or direction of the Z-axis. It will remain in the up direction.

The Y-axis will rotate to match the user-defined pick points and the UCS will be aligned.
