Command Line

  • AutoCAD / BricsCAD: CWDEFECT

This command is used to report a program defect or limitation. It will collect the program version, configuration and related program information that may be useful for the Support team to analyze the problem. The defect report is generated as a text file to be sent to support.

Note: The defect report does not collect any personal information from your computer. You can review the text file before sending it to our Support team.


Using the Tool

To report a defect, follow the steps below:

  1. Either click Defect Report in the Info panel or type a command line prompt specific to the preferred CAD system and press ENTER.

    1. The Defect Report dialog appears.

  2. Enter personal data (name, company, location, email, and phone) in the appropriate fields. This data will help us to contact you when necessary.

  3. Enter a summary of the problem in the Summary field, followed by a description of the problem in the Detailed description field. Provide as many details as possible, such as what your actions were prior to the problem occurrence; whether you are able to duplicate the problem; whether the problem occurs with other databases or models; etc. When possible, also include the text from any error message that appeared.

  4. Once information is provided, click Create Report. It will generate a defect report as a text file. You will be informed where this file is created. Please send this file to support@hds.leica-geosystems.com.
