Evidence Reference

Function

Evidence markers can be referenced to a point in the scene allowing the coordinates of the evidence to be relative to a user defined reference. This will generally be used with scanned crime scenes with multiple rooms.

Procedure

When the command is run, the user will be prompted to pick a Reference Point then the Reference direction. The direction defines the x axis.

Additional references can be defined.

Select the reference line to make changes to the reference name, color, layer, and elevation from the properties panel.

A defined reference can be selected in the Evidence Marker dialog when creating evidence markers. The coordinates of these evidence markers will be relative to the selected reference.

Note: When the reference field is set to none, the World UCS coordinate 0,0,0 is used.

The evidence marker report will list the reference used for each evidence marker.
