The following exercise will illustrate how to extract shapes and their properties from potentially measured point clouds. > [!TIP] > Open the file **AlignOnRef.3dr** ([download](https://www.cyclone3dr.com/download_helper.php?File=Cyclone3DRSampleData/AlignOnRef.3dr)). Show only the folder **BestShapes**. then compute each corresponding best feature. For instance, select the line and execute the command [Best Line](/v1/docs/cyclone-3dr-bestlinec): - You can eliminate noisy points by using the parameter **Eliminate worst points**: eliminate 10 points. - You can lock some parameters: lock the direction to Z. You can also try the equivalent command for all the basic shapes. ![image2019-9-16_16-13-41.png](https://cdn.document360.io/820e11db-8ed5-45ae-ac86-f6b77dcb2aa7/Images/Documentation/image2019-9-16-16-13-41.png) Best shapes computed from point clouds or polylines
