# Basic Tutorial | Create sections

With the software, it is possible to create different kinds of sections of a mesh or of a point cloud:

- Freehand sections of a mesh
- Sections along a curve of a mesh or of a point cloud
- Radial sections of a mesh
- Planar sections of a mesh or of a point cloud

Additional parameters are required to create a section of a point cloud, they will be explained in the first exercise.
