TruSpace Open

Function

Launches the TruSpace engine in a separate window to render your scene.

Procedure

  1. Open TruSpace: This prompts to pick a cloud point. If there are points from more than one scanner near the pick, then those scanners are listed with their distances to the pick; select the scanner position to use. The TruSpace viewer is launched.

  2. Close TruSpace: This closes the current TruSpace viewer.

  3. Show/Hide TruSpace: This is a toggle item that shows or hides the TruSpace viewer without closing it.

  4. Open KeyPlan: This opens the KeyPlan associated with the current ModelSpace. If more than one KeyPlan is available, select the KeyPlan to display from the list. The KeyPlan viewer is launched.

  5. Close KeyPlan: This closes the current KeyPlan viewer.

  6. Sync Toggles: This invokes a modeless dialog box with synchronization settings and the quick limit box size. The dialog is automatically shown when you open TruSpace or KeyPlan. Do not close the dialog unless you want to disable TruSpace Synchronization (where the CAD viewpoint changes to match the TruSpace viewpoint).

    1. Enable Sync: This is a toggle item that turns viewpoint synchronization with the TruSpace viewer on or off. When synchronization is off, the CAD viewpoint does not update to match the TruSpace viewpoint.

    2. 3D Point: When this is enabled, IMS Map360 submits the 3D pick from the TruSpace viewer to the CAD command line, for use by CAD commands that accept 3D coordinates. (Use "Pick on Cloud" for IMS Map360 commands.)

    3. Pick on Cloud: When this is enabled, IMS Map360 recomputes the pick made in the TruSpace viewer, based on the closest cloud points visible in the CAD window. Recomputation may fail if there are not enough points near the pick, or when the points are clipped or hidden in CloudWorx. (Use "3D Point" for non-IMS Map360 commands.)

    4. View Point: When this is enabled, the viewpoint of the active CAD viewport automatically updates to be the same as the TruSpace viewpoint. When needed, use the “Regenerate Point Clouds” command to load more detail.

    5. Quick Limit Box: This clips the point clouds with a pre-defined limit box size (see the “B=” setting) around the pick made in the TruSpace viewer. This clips and hides the points outside the limit box. You can turn off the limit box using the “Limit Box Off” command.

  7. Perspective Camera Off: When you synchronize the viewpoint, the active CAD viewport is automatically switched to perspective mode. Prior to 2007, most commands, especially those that require picks and 3D input, are incompatible with perspective mode. This command conveniently switches the CAD viewport back to parallel projection mode.
