Function

Print the current drawing in model space or paper space.

Procedure

Select the printer to use and view its properties.

Define the paper size supported by the selected printer and the page size and printable area will be displayed. Additional copies can be printed at once. Choose the Advanced button for more advanced printing option.

Based on your drawing or layout, print as either portrait or landscape orientation. Any lineweights set in the drawing, such as normal, medium, or heavy will not be printed unless the option is checked.

The Convert Vport to Image option is useful when printing point clouds. When checked, the viewports in the current layout tab will be converted to an image before being printed to paper.

Set the page options:

Fit to Paper: Select to fit the specified print area to the current paper size.

Scale: Select a predefined scale from the list, or select Custom to specify your own print scale. When set 1=1, the drawing is not scaled. Scale is available only if Fit to Paper is not marked. If using a custom scale, type the ratio of drawing units to printed inches or printed millimeters.

Area: Select the area of the drawing that you want to print. Display prints the view on the screen. Extents prints the area that contains entities in the drawing. Limits prints to the limits defined for the layout or drawing. Window prints the portion of the drawing contained in the specified window, maintaining the aspect ratio of the windowed area to the drawing (select the print area for this option). View prints the selected saved view (if a view is defined).

Center on Page: Select to center the print area on the printed page.

X/Y: Type x- and y-coordinates to specify the origin of the print area. X/Y are available only if Center on Page is not checked.

A preview is available before printing.

Alternatively, select Export to PDF to open the export dialog with additional PDF options.
