Function

In addition to settings for the Display and Load limit settings described elsewhere, this dialog includes setting selections for Regenerating Point Cloud Modes and PointCloud Pick/Visibility.

Procedure

Render by Viewport

Gives points that are visible within the current viewport priority when doing a reload. In general, this means that there will be a higher point density where the camera is looking than in areas that aren't in view.

Render by ModelSpace

Loads points according to the point budget, and does not consider position relative to the current viewport. In general, you can expect to get a similar set of points when you reload, regardless of where you are looking.

Notes:

As the dialog text indicates, IMS Map360 must be restarted in order for the selected change to take place. Also, if the Load and Display limits are changed in the dialog before any project is opened, they will then be saved in the registry and applied each time IMS Map360 starts.

If the same preferences are changed while a project is already opened with points loaded, then the settings will be saved with the current project, but will not be saved to the registry (settings will revert back to the default ones).

This dialog may also be enabled by entering CWPREFERENCE at the command prompt.
