Hatch

Function

Add a pattern or solid fill to closed entities in the drawing.

Procedure

A pattern or solid fill can be chosen and previewed on the dialog.

A single color can be applied or a gradient can be defined from two colors.

If a pattern is selected, the scale can be changed from 0.25 to 2. By default, the scale is set to 1. The transparency can also be adjusted from the slider or by typing in a transparency value.

The gap tolerance can be set to allow nearly closed entities to be accepted.

If island detection is checked, it will detect entities drawn inside the closed boundary.

There are two methods for defining the boundaries for the hatch:

“Pick Inside Boundary”: The user will pick inside a boundary and the hatch pattern will appear.

“Pick Boundary Items”: The user will pick the items that define the boundary then press Enter and the hatch pattern will appear.

Edit the hatch by double clicking on the hatch pattern or solid fill and the hatch dialog will reopen.
