2025.0.0 | Map360 Release Notes

What’s New

The release of Map360 2025.0 is packed with new features and enhancements designed to elevate your experience. Our 2025 update brings you a range of improvements, focusing on usability, performance, and stability.

Printing and Exporting Point Cloud Data (still being optimized)

  • Optimized point cloud quality and file size in the resulting PDF or print output

  • The DPI setting can be changed directly on the dialog for optimized results

  • The convert viewport to image option is still available, but not required for printing point clouds

  • Commands: IMS_PRINT and IMS_EXPORT

Point Cloud Object

  • Import multiple point clouds and manually place them in the scene.

  • Supported Formats: LAS, LAZ, e57, PST, PTX, RCS, RCP.

  • Converts point cloud to RCS during import. Please be patient.

  • Point Cloud Object is not recognized by the tools on the Point Cloud Ribbon

  • Command: IMS_CUSTOMPCIMPORT

Reality Cloud Studio Streaming

  • Access Reality Cloud Studio (RCS) to open RCS project files directly in Map360

  • Required to sign in with an HxDR email and password.

  • Command: CWIMPORTRCS Import Zeno Mobile Project

  • Directly import the Zeno Mobile *.ZIP project folder and Map360 will convert it to a CSV for import

  • Command: IMS_IMPORT_POINTS

Camera Projection

  • Draw a line from the camera center to a projected point in the scene

  • Command: IMS_PROJECTIONLINE

Camera Coordinates

  • Define a camera in the scene by manually entering camera and target coordinates

  • Command: IMS_CAMERACOORD

Eyedropper

  • Define a color by sampling pixel color values from the cursor location on the screen

  • Found on the true color tab, within the color dialog.

Show Length Property

  • Show the overall length of a polyline, 3D polyline, or spline by checking the “Show Length” option on the properties panel.

Updated Canadian Vehicle Specs Database 2025.2

Point Cloud Engine and Client License Manager (CLM) have been updated.

Online Help for Map360 has been added to the Reality Capture Software documentation platform.

Improvements

  • BodyPoser3D: The hand can open and close, and fingers can move independently. A pose can be saved and reused in the current or future drawings.

  • Text is selectable on the following dialogs: ID Coordinate| Distance| Window Coordinate

Important Fixes

We've addressed various bugs and made stability improvements for a more reliable experience.

Below is a list of the most critical or requested fixes:

  • 12455 The recovery wizard no longer appears when opening a drawing saved to OneDrive

  • 12282 Define a trajectory rod by the fence and fit points options when working with an LGSx

  • 12652 Evidence Marker Report size has been optimized to decrease the resulting file size

  • 12384 Elevation of Evidence Markers is now being applied from properties

  • 12432 Crash resolved when creating a new drawing after closing a drawing from the tabs

  • 12185 Animation feature no longer crashes

  • 5691 Walls can be copied and pasted in the drawing

  • 12314 Save as... DWT no longer shows an error message

  • 12160 "Model" snaps are no longer showing as "Nearest"

  • 12158 IMS_HATCH shows the most recently used Pattern by default

  • 12157 Hatching does not go through text inside a 2D shape

  • 12141 Able to snap to midpoint in perspective mode

  • 12140 3-Point Rectangle text is aligned to the rectangle

  • 5436 "Convert vport to image" option is enabled by default when a point cloud exists

  • 12336 IMS_GEO: Imagery does not disappear after moving captured image

  • 12716 IMS_IMPORT_POINTS: filter for supported file types and notifies user of potentially

  • unsupported file type.

  • 12720 IMS_IMPORT_POINTS: Deleting file format causes importexport.dll resource error

  • 5774 Convert vport to image is unchecked by default

  • 5764 MS_LICENSE: Add Program Version Date (baked-in) to Map360 license debug menu

  • 5680 Implemented a new EpcA SDK License Key (non-expiring)

  • 12765, 12763, 12732, 12729, 12767, 12730, 12766, 12780, 12781, 12727, 12734, 12782, 12783, 12784,

  • 12787 – Licensing issues

  • 5791 Size limit for RCS files imported through IMS_CUSTOMPCIMPORT.

  • 5787 Runs in expired mode at launch due to instance still running in the background.

Known Issues

  • 12791 [Licensing] - Remote server name is not being remembered and has to be reentered

  • 12792 [Licensing] - Remote license list does not always appear on a clean install or on PC restart.

  • Workaround: Allow time for all components to fully load and try again.

  • 12786 [Global_Mapper] Address Search causes unhandled exception crash. Workaround: Search

  • a location using a different method, such as lat/long, current screen bounds, etc.

  • 12743 Custom DWT causes vectorization error. Workaround: Disabled the scene graph or create a new custom template with the latest version.

  • 12795 [CRASH] Importing an LGS with convert to LGSx causes a crash when importing from OneDrive or Dropbox, and the LGS file has geotags included. Workaround: Store the point cloud locally or on a network. Reported to Leica.

  • 12689 With an LGSx file loaded, the search in the Help window causes Map360 to freeze. Workaround: Purge the LGSx before searching the Help window. Reported to Leica.

  • The user is no longer notified if AECOBJECTS is set to OFF, and the properties panel may show additional/unexpected options. Workaround: type in AECOBJECTS and set the variable to On.

  • 12808 Viewport does not display attached image when running _IMS_EXPORT in Windows 11. Workaround: create a new viewport, unload and reload the raster image, or Print to PDF

Compatibility and Upgrades

Map360 2025.0 installs in a new directory on your computer and will not interfere with previously installed versions. Map360 2025.0 can open drawings created with older versions of Map360, and new projects completed with the program are also backward compatible with older versions.

You must have Administrator-level privileges on your workstation to correctly install the software. Map360 is compatible with 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows 8/8.1, 10 and 11.

Map360 2025.0 requires a compatible video card for the 3D rendering, animation, and point cloud engines. For details on system requirements, please review the following topic.

Licensing

All users with a valid CCP as of September 2, 2025 can run this new version.

On the license dialog, launch CLM and add the EID. Once the license is activated, reload entitlements on the Map360 license dialog. Select the license and run the program.
