# Workplane - Change Origin

## Function

This command changes the origin (0,0,0) of the UCS from a user defined pick on the point cloud

To change the origin of the UCS from a pick point

## Procedure

To change the origin of the UCS from a pick point:

1. Click on the icon or type **CWworkplane** at the CAD command line and press **Enter**
2. Type **OR** for Origin at the CAD command line and press **Enter**
3. The user will be prompted to **Pick origin**
  1. Be sure **Node OSNAP** is on
  2. Pick on the point cloud to define the new origin
4. The origin icon will move to the desired location
