# What consumes your subscription quota

Your subscription has one data quota, shared by **upload**, **download** and **processing**. Everything else is unlimited and included in your subscription.

## What consumes quota

> [!NOTE]
> - Processing is deducted only when it completes successfully.
> - Repeating an upload, download or process uses quota again.
> - Deleting data does not return quota already used.

## Desktop app

Actions in Windows File Explorer download or upload in the background:

| Action | Quota used |
| --- | --- |
| Open a file, or select Always keep on this device | 1× the file size |
| Copy or move a file already on your device | 1× the file size |
| Copy or move a file not on your device | 2× the file size |
| Browsing the project folders | Unlimited, included in your subscription |
| Point clouds, meshes, BIM files and other reality capture data | Not synchronised by the desktop app |
| Copying or moving files between folders in the GeoCloud web app instead | Unlimited, included in your subscription |

## Track usage

Admins and Maintainers can see usage on the Subscriptions page. Only Admins can [export a usage report per project](/v1/docs/hexagon-geocloud-export-a-usage-report-per-project). To add quota, contact your Customer Success Manager with your EID.
