A person's **Company Account Role** determines what they can do across the account as a whole. Their **Project Role** determines what they can do within a specific project. Both roles apply simultaneously — a user needs appropriate permissions at both levels to perform a given action. --- ## Company account roles Company account roles manage permissions related to account administration, subscription management, project creation, and user management. > [!NOTE] > Please note that the list below is a summary and may not be exhaustive of all functions or features controlled by Company Account Roles. | Feature | Admin | Maintainer | Employee | Member | External Member | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Edit the company account details | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Manage the company account subscription | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | View usage information on the Subscriptions dashboard | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Export a usage report (CSV) | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Invite members to the company account (internal and external members) | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Delete company account members | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Create projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Delete projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** Only if Owner | **SUPPORTED** Only if Owner | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Access projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited | | Invite members to projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | | Collaborate within projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | | Consume against the subscription quota (i.e., upload, download, and process within a project) | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | > [!WARNING] > Ensure that your company account has at least two administrators to provide mutual backup in the event of an absence. > [!NOTE] > To prevent a user from consuming any subscription quota, we recommend assigning the user the Member Role. --- ## Project roles Project roles manage permissions related to access and actions within a specific project. Users can be assigned a project role when they are added to a project, and the role can be changed at any time by an Owner or Editor. > [!NOTE] > Please note that the list below is a summary and may not be exhaustive of all functions or features controlled by Project Roles. | Feature | Owner | Editor | Collaborator | Viewer | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Invite members to a project | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** Only Editors, Collaborators, and Viewers | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Remove project members | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Change members' project roles | **SUPPORTED** Including transfer ownership | **SUPPORTED** Assign Editor, Collaborator, and Viewer only | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Access a project (subfolders, details, members, Scenes, Assets) | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | **SUPPORTED** Only to invited or created | | Upload, download, and delete project assets | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Create, edit, and delete Scenes in accessible projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Create, edit, and delete Measurements in accessible projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** Can measure, but can't save | | Create, edit, and delete GeoTags in accessible projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Create, edit, and delete Limit Boxes in accessible projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Create, edit, and delete Tours in accessible projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Create, edit, and delete General Access Link (public URL) in accessible projects | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | | Delete projects | **SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | **NOT SUPPORTED** | --- ## Related pages - [Add users to your account](/v1/docs/hexagon-geocloud-add-users-to-your-account) — how to add colleagues, external partners, or SSO users - [Editing project member roles](/v1/docs/hexagon-geocloud-editing-project-member-roles) — step-by-step guide to changing a member's project role - [Inviting internal users to company account](/v1/docs/hexagon-geocloud-inviting-internal-users-to-company-account) - [Inviting external users to a project](/v1/docs/hexagon-geocloud-inviting-external-users-to-a-project)
