# Area Measurements

Area measurements allow users to measure the area of a rectangle along a regular plane.

To measure area, users should select the **Measure Area** option, then select two points along a regular plane to form a leg of the box, drag out the shape, and click.

Area measurements obey **Simple** and **Advanced** [measurement modes](/v1/docs/cyclone-register-360-measurement-mode-settings).
