# Subdivide

This command subdivides the selected mesh(es) according to a Maximum Edge Length. Large triangles will be subdivided but the geometry will stay the same.

> ### Requirements
> 
> Select the mesh(es) and launch the command.

1. Enter the **Max edge length** you want for your mesh. The command will iteratively reduce the edges length until the criterion is fulfilled.
2. **Improve curvatures areas** allow flipping edges to give better curvatures for the mesh but may remove sharp edges.

> ### Tips & Tricks
> 
> The size of the current mesh can dramatically increase. To avoid your computer runs out of memory, due to a very small Max edge length, 3 examples of parameters are given with the number of triangles which would be subdivided.
