# Separate according Distance

This command explodes one cloud into two parts using a selected object.

> ### Requirements
> 
> Select a cloud and:
> 
> - a geometry
> - a linear object: polyline or trajectory or CAD edge or CAD wire
> - a surfacic object: mesh or CAD surface

1. Choose a **Distance Threshold**. This will cut the cloud according to this distance with the selected object.
2. The selected cloud is divided into **two new clouds** with different colors. You can choose to keep the two separated parts or only one with the two checkboxes.
