# Scan to Plan

This workflow allows extracting plans (i.e. 2D polylines) from one or several scanned buildings.

The workflow is divided in 3 steps:

1. [Slice Definition](/v1/docs/cyclone-3dr-scantoplanslicedefinitionc): To define all point cloud slices to extract from.
2. [Extract Plans](/v1/docs/cyclone-3dr-scantoplanextractplansc): To automatically extract and edit plans from the slices.
3. [Export Plans](/v1/docs/cyclone-3dr-scantoplanexportplansc): To export the design to other software for further process.

> ### Notes
> 
> - When first entering the workflow, the currently active coordinate system will be saved in the project, and will be locked for all the steps.
> - If the coordinate system used to enter the workflow is modified or deleted outside of it, the project will be corrupted.
