# Quick Slice

This command allows you to automatically create a slice in the 3D scene.

> ### Requirements
> 
> Along X, Y, Z: no selection is required to launch the command.
> 
> Along curve: select a linear object to launch the command.

Click on a point using [Define points](https://hexagon.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/createpage.action?spaceKey=Hlp2025x1&title=EnteringPointProcedure). A slice is created in the scene:

- **Quick Slice along X** is going to create a slice along the X axis.
- **Quick Slice along Y** is going to create a slice along the Y axis.
- **Quick Slice along Z** is going to create a slice along the Z axis.
- **Quick Slice along Curve** is going to create a slice along the selected polyline or trajectory.

> 
> The slice is created with a default thickness corresponding to 0.2 in the current document unit.
