# Profile Extraction

This workflow creates sections of meshes (or clouds) along an axis.

> ### Requirements
> 
> Select one or several meshes (or clouds) and a polyline (or a CAD curve or a trajectory or an alignment) and launch the workflow.

> [!WARNING]
> ### Notes
> 
> - This workflow cannot combine meshes and clouds.
> - The top direction of 2D sections will be computed automatically according to Z. Consequently, the axis cannot be vertical: define a new UCS or rotate the data.
> - It is highly recommended to keep the same UCS activated all along the workflow.
> - Changing the colors of the inputs outside of the workflow may require to resume the workflow for it to apply in the report.
