# Profile 2D Inspection-Compute Profiles

This step computes the profiles.

1. Optionally, filter the vertices of the profiles distant from the axis with **Max distance**.
2. If inputs are point clouds:
  1. **Activate noise reduction** to keep only the best points of a section.
  2. **Slice thickness** to define which points belong to the section according to a slice centered on the given position.
  3. **Chaining distance**: if the distance between two neighbor points is less than this value, a segment is created.
3. Display the sections:
  - In a line,
  - In a column,
  - In a grid,
  - Individually.
4. Optionally, display the **3D** scene in addition to the 2D layout.
