# Translation

This command translates selected objects with a vector. During this operation, the objects can be copied once or more.

> ### Requirements
> 
> Select the object(s) to be translated and launch the command.

1. Enter a [direction](/v1/docs/cyclone-3dr-definenormaldirection) for the translation.
2. Set the **length** for the translation.
3. Optionally, enter the **Number of copies**. N copies means that original object is kept and N translations are done with a copy at each time.
4. Optionally, you can **Preview** to see if the result is correct.
5. Validate the command with **OK**, or close the dialog box with **Cancel**.
