CloudWorx uses the least squares algorithm to find the best-fit line through the cloud points in the slice with just one click. ![image-20240527-141233.png](https://cdn.document360.io/820e11db-8ed5-45ae-ac86-f6b77dcb2aa7/Images/Documentation/image-20240527-141233.png) --- ### **Using the Tool** To create a 2D polyline with the 1Point Polyline tool, follow the steps below: 1. Create a quick slice (refer to the [QuickSlice](/v1/docs/cloudworx-quickslice) page for more details). 2. Click **1Point Polyline** in the **Line-Tools** panel or type a [command line prompt](/v1/docs/cloudworx-1point-polyline#command-line) specific to the preferred CAD system and press **ENTER**. 3. Place the first pick point by clicking roughly in the middle of the segment. 4. The first polyline segment should appear as a straight line. 5. To create arc polyline segments, type **A** (**A**rc) at the CAD command line. ![image-20240527-142749.png](https://cdn.document360.io/820e11db-8ed5-45ae-ac86-f6b77dcb2aa7/Images/Documentation/image-20240527-142749.png) 6. Carry on clicking in segments until the auto-fit polyline reaches the end of the outline. ![image-20240527-142957.png](https://cdn.document360.io/820e11db-8ed5-45ae-ac86-f6b77dcb2aa7/Images/Documentation/image-20240527-142957.png) 7. If the auto-fit polyline misses a segment, undo the wrong segment using the **CWGPLINE** | **U** (**U**ndo) command or pressing **Ctrl+Z**. Then, place a particular point to create the missed segment. The auto-fit polyline is created and follows the outline of the object in a quick slice.
