Profile 2D Inspection-Prepare

This step sets up the objects for the rest of the Profile 2D Inspection workflow.

  1. Curvilinear distances: choose whether the distances entered are expressed in 2D (only taking into account X and Y coordinates), or in 3D (X, Y, Z).

  2. Offset: value added to the position of the section.

  3. Prefix: choose the prefix for the distance information. For example, distances can be given with the prefix "MP" for "Milepost".

  4. Section orientation: choose to create sections in vertical planes or in planes locally perpendicular to the axis.

Notes

  • The order of selection of the inputs will determine which is the reference and which is the measure. It can be changed afterwards.

  • When using an alignment:

    • The Curvilinear distances are automatically set to 2D.

    • The Offset is defined automatically according to the alignment stations.
